Humanity divides neatly into three species when it comes to outdoor accommodation: die-hard campers who consider it successful if they’ve only forgotten half their equipment, glamping enthusiasts who believe appreciating nature shouldn’t require engineering degrees, and the “absolutely-not” crowd who think roughing it means a hotel without room service.
But these categories shift like British weather. One torrential downpour can convert the most enthusiastic camper into someone googling “luxury yurts near me” at midnight.
Camping – hauling half your possessions into the wilderness, spending hours deciphering tent instructions written by someone who’s clearly never pitched a tent, then lying awake wondering if that rustling is wind or something with sharp teeth.
Glamping – camping’s sophisticated cousin that decided sleeping under stars shouldn’t require Bear Grylls survival skills.
Camping’s beauty lies in authenticity, creating your temporary home from scratch. The not-so-beautiful part? Realising you’ve packed three camping chairs but forgotten food that doesn’t require a PhD in campfire cookery. Glamping is for those who want to commune with nature without negotiating with it. People who appreciate the outdoors without packing their entire kitchen into an already groaning car boot.
Welcome to Great Farm Glamping. We’ve cracked the outdoor holiday code where six beautifully set-up camps await your arrival - no assembly required, no risk of pitching tents on slopes at midnight. Forget car tetris with impossible packing, midnight gas canister panics and post-holiday tent-drying rituals while neighbours judge your equipment choices.
We’ve thought of everything: toilet paper sorted (some things shouldn’t be left to chance), starter wood and kindling supplies for Instagram-worthy campfire moments, all bed linen and towels included, plus outdoor cooking essentials like oil, salt, tea, coffee, sugar and UHT milk. Yes, proper tea and coffee – we’re not savages. Washing up supplies, crockery, cooking equipment and campfire grills are all provided. The only thing missing is someone to do the washing up (we’re working on that for next season).
Your packing list is revolutionised. Just bring clothes, toiletries, personal items and food. No tent poles, sleeping bags, gas canisters or spare tent peg anxiety. This leaves car space for important stuff – extra wine for proper campfire contemplation and artisanal marshmallows to elevate your s’mores game.
At Great Farm Glamping, we believe everyone should enjoy the great outdoors. Come as you are, leave the heavy lifting to us and discover that the best adventures happen when you’re not fighting tent instructions in fading light.
Life’s too short for bad camping experiences, but just right for excellent glamping ones.
