Kingfisher Camp
Kingfisher camp is a stunning secluded riverside base.
Set a few strides back from the banks of the river, nestled amongst the willow trees and surrounded by woodland habitat, this hand build hideaway is a stunning and private retreat for 2 people. Elevated on stilts, it offers the perfect spot from which to spot kingfishers, which race up and down the river with regularity.
Designed by us and handcrafted from scratch using timber and willow hurdles that echo the surrounding woodland, the hexagonal bedroom enjoys an almost 360 degree view through the trees. Beautiful artisan details have been crafted into the hand built furniture including the outrageously comfortable king size bed. A bio fuel fire warms the room so quickly and power is provided by a roof top solar panel. Down a few steps you will find a shower room with flushing loo and plentiful hot water.
An outdoor kitchen is well equipped with a gas cooker, gas power fridge and sink with hot and cold running water. There is also a large Kadai fire bowl on which you can cook either barbeque style or using the cooking bowl that hangs from a tripod over.
Follow the timber deck pathway and you will find a funky hot tub that's heated by a wood fire. Screened by willow, it's incredibly private and is the perfect size for two people to relax in comfort whilst looking over the surrounding views. There is even a bottle holder on the side!

Note that during high seasons our changeover days are Monday and Friday. All other times include Wednesday changeover.
What's included
We endeavour to provide everything you need.
We provide crisp white bedding and fluffy towels and the bed will be made up ready for your arrival. The camp kitchen contains all the cutlery, crockery, pans and cooking utensils that you will need during your stay. Kingfisher Camp has a two ring gas hob and a large firebowl with BBQ grid and tripod with cooking bowl. There is a gas powered fridge. There are two USB sockets for charging mobile phones & devices but please note there aren't any plugs at Kingfisher Camp so no hair dryers or other electrical items.
We supply the food basics such as salt, oil, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits plus washing up liquid, soap and shower gel as well as a starter supply of logs and kindling. If you don’t fancy cooking or shopping for food, we can take care of it for you. We can supply breakfast hampers filled with lovely local produce or a delicious evening meal for you to reheat when you’re ready. Ask us for more information.
